Just this past week I had the pleasure of meeting some of my clients again and seeing the lovely canal home I designed for them. While I was there I naturally took some photos as the home is well worth showing on this website. The houses main features are the skillion roof design, the angled alfresco roof with cantilevered corner, outdoor kitchen and raking ceiling with north facing highlight windows. Being right on a canal the owner's can walk out to their retaining wall and toss a fishing line in the water or sit and enjoy the warm summer evenings with a BBQ cooking in the outdoor kitchen. It's really nice to be able to help deliver a lifestyle to a client not just a house!
The subject of my latest architecture photo shoot is a home I designed as the personal home for a long time builder client (White Building Co) in Collie Western Australia. The home is located nicely on a rise in a cul-de-sac and its unique feature is the angled forms of the floor plan and interesting skillion roof planes. The main living area has a non-rectangular shape with the meals area squared up by a triangular shaped counter in front of the kitchen. Generous outdoor living area's and a beautiful colour selection top of what is a very classy home.
This is a recently completed double story 3 unit development in Port Hedland. Two of the units are mirror images of each other and attached and the third stands alone addressing the side street. As per the usual 'northwest style' we included colorbond corrugated wall cladding on steel framing but somewhat differently we went with a skillion roof with lined eaves and soffits which I think makes the development stand out. A great colour selection and a high quality build completes a great little Pilbara investment for the owner. I've worked on a lot of projects in the Pilbara region over the years but this is one of my favourites.
